Sakaja flags off 24 new garbage trucks, unveils plan for Green Nairobi Company
Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja unveiled 24 new refuse compactor trucks at City Hall on Thursday as part of efforts to enhance waste management across the city.
Billy Munyiri Mwangi, a 24-year-old university student who was abducted by four hooded men in Embu and held captive for 16 days, is now recuperating at his parents' home after being discharged from the hospital.
Speaking after his release on Tuesday, Mwangi expressed deep gratitude to God for his safe return and extended forgiveness to his abductors despite the traumatic ordeal he endured.
Mwangi was kidnapped on December 21, 2024, while waiting for a haircut at a barber shop in Embu town. A white double-cabin pickup truck arrived at the scene, and four hooded men, believed to be government security agents, forcibly dragged him into the vehicle.
Eyewitnesses reported that the masked individuals took Mwangi without offering any explanation.
