Sakaja flags off 24 new garbage trucks, unveils plan for Green Nairobi Company
Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja unveiled 24 new refuse compactor trucks at City Hall on Thursday as part of efforts to enhance waste management across the city.

• Footage of the crash broadcast by local media showed the aircraft sliding on its belly before bursting into flames. Both local fire officials and aviation experts say some sort of landing gear malfunction was likely.
• Two people have been pulled from the wreckage, both crew members. However, rescuers have warned that they do not expect to find many more survivors from the inferno.
• The Jeju Air jetliner was carrying 175 passengers and six crew when it crash-landed at the airport in Muan county. All on baord were South Korean except for two Thai nationals.
• The plane, listed as a Boeing 737-800 on FlightAware, had traveled from Bangkok, Thailand. Analysts say both the Boeing 787-800 and Jeju Air, South Korea’s largest low-cost airline, have a strong safety record.
